Mid-term Review of Annual Policy 2004-05 announced by Reserve Bank, on 26th October 2004, has kept Bank Rate unchanged.Repo rate hike of 0.25 per cent is basically to reduce excess liquidity and help in controlling inflation.
Bank Rate kept unchanged at 6.0 per cent.
Repo Rate increased by 25 basis points to 4.75 per cent.
Ceiling on Interest Rates on NRE Deposits raised by 50 basis points.
Minimum tenor of retail domestic term deposits reduced to 7 days.
