Reply : The govt. seems to be following two point agenda i.e. lower Fiscal Defict and attracting foreign capital. But with a high interest burden and the necessity of maintaining attractive interest rates for foreign capital, does that mean a rigid interest rate policy? There is also the talk of freeing interest rate ceilings for commercial banks. Does that mean an accross the board decrease in deposit rates? What will be its effect on attracting foreign capital and Savings and Capital Formation in general? Comments please.
