Raheja QBE General Insurance Company Ltd gets IRDA approval

Raheja QBE General Insurance Company Limited, a joint venture general insurance company promoted by Prism Cements Limited, India and QBE Holdings (AAP) Pty Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of QBE, Australia has been registered as a General Insurer by IRDA.

Prism Cement Ltd is Rajan Raheja group company. This group is already present in the life insurance sector through group company Exide Industries Ltd, which holds a 49.13 percent in the Bangalore-based ING Vysya Life Insurance Co Ltd.

The Certificate of Registration has been issued by The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) on 12.12.08. With this registration, the total number of general insurers has gone up to 21.
