POWER PANEL ON "BANKING TECHNOLOGY & APPLICATIONS - CHALLENGES & TRENDS" ON 24th SEPT 2010 AT MUMBAI

Information Technology (IT) has helped in increasing the speed and efficiency of banking operations by facilitating the emergence of innovative products and new delivery channels. Indian banks have made huge investments in modernising their IT infrastructure during the past 10 years. But there is still more work to be done, particularly around risk control, analytics and business intelligence & customer relationship management.

In an environment of fast changing trends and ever increasing demands of users, IT adoption poses several challenges, spanning applications, security, network, vendor management and data management, says RBI in it's Annual Report.

According to Mr Anurag Khanna, CMD, Banknet Group, Banks need to ensure accuracy of data and then figure out ways of utilising this data for enhancing the business and customer service. From a cost and efficiency perspective, Indian banks are at an advantage in general, but from an application perspective need is of higher degree of sophistication.

Power Panel at Banknet's 6th International Bank tech Summit on 24th September 2010 will focus on all the major banking technologies being used, updated & planned by the financial sector. It will also touch upon outsourcing, modile payments & financial inclusion.

This Session will have presentations from banks & vendors to help maximize and standardize the use of existing technologies as well as to implement IT most effectively.
