Name : Rajeev Dewal
Subject: Bank Service Charges
Message : Pricing (i.e.Charges) is a matter of contract and normally any court or authority will not interfere with the pricing unless the same are grossly unreasonable

This was ruled by the Supreme Court in teh famous case of Archana Kamat Vs. Canara Bank

However, there needs to be a contract for imposing charges and the same may not be imposed unilaterally or without giving due notice

In case of your grievance having considered above, you may approach Reserve Bank, Banking Ombudsman, Consumer Court or Civil Court for redressal.
