International Banking Technology Summit
Banknet India’s Second International Bank Tech Summit on 21st September, 2006 at Mumbai will bring together prominent speakers, delegates from major banks in India, Business schools and IT companies from around 10 countries to facilitate information sharing, interaction and exchange of views. The Exhibition at the venue will showcase products of technology vendors across the globe.
Mr V. Leeladhar, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India has kindly consented to be the chief guest. Mr Arvind Sharma, Member Secretary, Governing Council and Director, IDRBT will make the special address.
The session on Credit, Market and Operational Risk Management will deal with Basel II, as RBI has made it mandatory for all banks to implement these norms by the end of March 2007. Summit will examine critical issues like phishing, KYC and Anti-Money Laundering in a special session on Financial Frauds and Information Security. Further, the track on Technology for Co-operative & Smaller Banks would address difficulties faced by such banks in adapting to and buying IT solutions.
The Summit will also cover feasibility in implementing new avenues and problems relating to Internet and Mobile Banking, and how to make such transactions secure while, at the same time, giving flexibility to customers to access their banking needs through various platforms. As the number of ATMs in the country is mushrooming, the session on ATM Outsourcing, Networks & Trends will deal with the opportunities banks can have in ATM sharing and white-labelled ATMs.
According to Mr Anurag Khanna, CEO of Banknet India, the summit will help to deliberate on how IT can help enhance the performance of Banks & Financial Institutions, when effectively aligned with business strategy.
Mr Anurag Khanna advised that an interactive workshop on Data-Mining, Business Intelligence & Knowledge Management will be conducted by senior faculty from IIM-Ahmedabad, IIT-Mumbai & NMIMS-Mumbai. Further, a collection of papers on Banking, Insurance, Finance and Technology by industry experts will be released at the Bank Tech Summit, which will be presented free to all the delegates.
