Central Bank of India registers net profit of Rs 244 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2011


Mumbai, November 01, 2011:

FINANCIAL INCLUSION

• Under Financial Inclusion, to mitigate the distress faced by the farmers 16962 villages under 134 districts have been brought under 100% financial inclusion and over 60.14 lac “No Frills” accounts were opened as on September 30, 2011.

 AWARDS /RECOGNITION

 Our Bank has been ranked 4th Best Public Sector Bank in India under “Brand Equity – Top 100 Most Trusted Brands 2011” and ranked at 16th position in 2011 under “India’s Most Trusted Service Brands” category as per survey conducted by Economic Times.

 The Bank won national recognition through the Skoch Digital Inclusion Award under 3 categories (1) Skill Development under NSDC platform, (2) MAST (3) Developing Youth Enterprise.

 The Bank won Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award for successful implementation of Official Language Policy at the hands of President Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil.

 Bank distributed Rs. 10.50 crore under the Bihar Livelihood Jeevika Project to 2200 women SHGs.

 Bank participated in National Seminar on Skilling India’s Youth organized by American India Foundation (AIF) in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and supported by Central Bank of India, in the presence of former President Dr. A P J Kalam.



Other initiatives taken by the Bank during the quarter (June to Sept. 2010) include :

 Retail Banking

 A new product ’Cent Double’ launched to facilitate the customers to double their money in 7 ½ years.

 A new scheme launched viz. ‘Cent Sahyog’ to offer hassle free financial assistance to the MSE segment which is large and mostly unbanked.

 NID

 Roll out of e-stamping in the states of Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

 Corporate Agency Agreement signed with M/s Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company for Non Life Insurance Business.

 RBI license obtained for Capital Market Services Branch in Mumbai, to be opened shortly.

 Affordable Health Insurance package for rural customers

 Family floater Mediclaim Scheme for our customers

 Centenary Param Salary Account for Defense Personnel with a view to extend all types of banking services.
