International Banking Summit & IT Exhibition 1-5 December, 2002 - Taj Palace, New Delhi


International Banking Summit

Indian Institute of Bankers (IIB), the premier professional body of nearly all banks & financial institutions in India, organised "International Banking Summit" from 1st December to 5th December at Taj Palace New Delhi. Banknet India on behalf of IIB, organised the IT Exhibition at International Banking Summit. This exhibition showcased the representative products of a few selected major IT companies from 2nd to 4th December 2002. The objective was to demonstrate the IT capabilities & products of major IT companies to the Indian & global banking community.

This event was to commemorate 75 years of IIB & had participation of Top Bankers from all over the world. The summit took a closer look at the following dimensions which have greater influence on the financial sector.

· Innovations
· Marketing
· Managing Risks
· HRD Strategies
· Regulation and Supervision
· Corporate Governance
· CRM
· Technology

The summit brought together senior policy makers/regulators, bankers in private, public sector and foreign sectors and HRD professional from within and outside the country. The forum provided opportunities for interaction with the experts and among the delegates who were senior banking and finance professional from all over the world.

The Summit had more than 30 distinguished speakers including, Secretary Finance, Deputy Governor, RBI, Chairman from IRDA, TRAI & various Indian & Foreign Banks. The Biennial Conference of Asia & Pacific Association of Banking Institutes (APBAI) was also held concurrently on 3rd December 2002 at this Summit. Delegates to Summit included 100+ Top Indian Bankers and more than 50 Top banking professionals from 30+ countries.

The summit had eight technical sessions and two special sessions, of one and half-hour each.
