A small commercial bank is contemplating to enter into "credit cards' issue business", through a very large global bank, with whom this small bank has correspondent banking relation. For the accounting back-office, they are looking for a primer on the accounting issues, entries, etc. Is there any source on the web?
Also, since the arrangement (kind of an agency of the global bank) envisages the small agent bank collecting card-holders' fees from its customers (& transferring a part of that to the global bank, as their share), which alternative is better :-
a) booking both receipts & payments separately (i.e., gross), or,
b) booking receipts (net of payments)?
