Yes after the abolition of bsrbs by the finance minister in his budget there will no p.o exam conducted by the bsrbs and the same will be conducted by the respective banks directly. by this message is very clear that the banks will recruit only people of special talent viz. computer engineers, mba graduates, mca etc.... hence i personally advise you to pursue some professional qualification as said above. but in case of sbi it is not clear whether it would recruit p.os because the selection is presently done by Central Recruitment Board of the bank and not bsrb. Anyway you would not lose anything by preparing for the exam as it would enable you to write any competitive exam.
