Subject: Merger of SBI Associate Banks
Message : I think it would be a good idea to cross merge all the seven associate banks of SBI, delinking from it and make a separate big entity. By this the new bank will have autonomy in taking decisions and will have widespread network across India. It would be second largest bank after SBI which will have good network in North India and South India. In the present banking scenario it would be difficult for small banks to survive in the industry. Big banks only will survive and serve the customers in a better way in all aspects. Because they will have widespread network across the country.

It is the right for the government to think in this direction. Because now all the banks are undertaking major computerisation work of their branches. Once all the branches are computerised it will be problematic to integrate the different softwares used in different banks. Please let me know your opinions in this regard
