I am in a bad situation. I have an ICICI account for which i have a debit card. I haven't lost the card, neither have i given the card to any one or disclosed my pin number to any one.
2 days back a transaction of 9000 (Debit) has happened on my account. The transaction reflects it as an ATM transaction, with the same card number that i possess. I haven't given the card to ANYONE.
The bank says that they don't have a camera in that ATM unit and have directed me to lodge a police complaint. They are not willing to take this up. Can some one please let me know if EFT regulations in india protect me on this count and should i put a claim on the bank over this it becomes the bank's responsibility to process the claim and evidence who did this transaction? How do I as a consumer protect myself against this?
