Banks today have no time to give specifications and get tailor-made software. They seek solutions that will get them started immediately. Such an environment therefore calls for better domain knowledge in the IT companies as well. It has become common practice to employ banking experts; but this cannot fill the knowledge gap as the implementation spans across a large spectrum of financial products, services, processes and locations. Moreover, over time banking has evolved into a highly complex business and the services that a typical bank renders are vast.
The programme attempts to bridge the gaps in domain knowledge of the IT solution providers. The objective of this programme therefore, is to provide the banking knowledge from a system perspective, which will help the designers / developers understand the processes and the information flow better.
The banking knowledge can be covered in three modules – Basic banking operations, and advanced modules for Trade Finance and Treasury operations. The objective of this programme is to cover the basic banking operations and the linkages to various systems, which will enable the participants to appreciate the requirements of the banks and address the implementation issues more effectively.
This programme would provide the basic understanding of banking requirements to the software professionals which would enable the IT professionals manage both development / customization and implementation of the solutions more efficiently. It will also quicken the process of deploying efficient IT solutions / products.
